What are the types of GST Returns?
Under the GST regime, businesses are required to file three main types of GST returns, which are as follows GSTR-1- This return is used to report details of all outward supplies made by a business. It includes details such as the name and GSTIN of the recipient, the nature and value of the goods or services supplied, and the tax collected on such supplies. GSTR-2A- This return is an auto-generated form that provides details of all inward supplies made to a business, based on the information filed by its suppliers in their GSTR-1 returns. GSTR-3B- This return is a summary return that businesses need to file on a monthly basis. It provides a summary of all inward and outward supplies made during the month, the amount of tax liability, and the amount of tax paid. In addition to these returns, there are other returns that businesses may need to file depending on their specific circumstances, such as GSTR-4 for composition taxpayers, GSTR-5 for non-resident taxpayers, and GSTR-9 for annual returns.
