A belated return under Section 139(4) can be filed up to 31 December of the assessment year, unless the government extends it. After that, you'd need an Updated Return (ITR-U).

Under Section 234F the late fee is ₹5,000 — reduced to ₹1,000 if your total income is up to ₹5 lakh. Interest under Section 234A may also apply on any unpaid tax.

Yes. Unlike ITR-U, a belated return can still claim an eligible refund. Your expert reconciles TDS / TCS and files the refund claim.

Most business and capital losses cannot be carried forward in a belated return. House-property loss carry-forward is still allowed. Your expert flags what applies to you.

Then the Updated Return (ITR-U) under Section 139(8A) is the route — we can move you to that plan and carry over your documents.

Yes. Note that for a belated return the new regime is the default and the old-regime option may be restricted — your expert applies whichever is available and optimal.

File your belated return before the window shuts.

Buy now, upload documents, and your tax expert files under Section 139(4) — late fee computed, no surprises.
